State Highpoints – Ohio - 1,549-foot Campbell Hill

Ohio’s highest spot and the 43rd highest US state summit, 1,549-foot Campbell Hill is located in Ohio’s west-central quadrant, northwest of Columbus. With 644 feet of prominence, Campbell Hill is the most prominent peak in Ohio. This highpoint is a drive up, and a very short stroll will take you to the highest ground. This highpoint is wheelchair accessible.

To get to Campbell Hill by car, go to Bellefontaine, OH near the junction of US 68 and US 33. If you are on US 33, Take the exit for state highway 540, and go east away from the town of Bellefontaine. If you are on US 68 turn east on E. Sandusky Avenue, and go 1.7 miles to the intersection of US 33 and State Highway 540. Go 0.7 mile east on SH 540 and watch for signs about the highest point in OH, and the Hi Point Career Center. These signs will be on your right. Turn right (south) into the Hi Point Career Center, and follow signs to the highest point. Turn right at a T intersection, drive up the hill, and park on the left side of the road. The highpoint is on the north side of the road, adorned with a flagpole. A few steps will take you there. The highpoint marker is between two benches just before you get to the flagpole. Please stay off the grass, and remember that you are on private property. Also, do not plan a visit after dark.
